Standard Features
The Model MQ-12-AC Mechanical Quill Unit has many unique design features. The main casting is fine grain cast iron and features interchangeable mounting dimensions with our line of hydraulic quill units.
The ball screw and quill assembly is a one-piece construction offering unequaled rigidity, in-line thrust, positive feed rate, and in-line depth control (positive stop). The unit utilizes a two A.C. motor construction, one of which is supplied with the unit and is an integral shell motor providing the rapid traverse mode. The second motor (can be customer supplied) is a standard foot mounted motor and provides the feed mode, as well as spindle rotation, therefore providing a constant feed/revolution characteristic.
The MQ-12-AC unit also features the following items as standard equipment: choice of three spindle constructions, motor bracket assembly, enclosed belt guard, timing belt drive, and three commercial oil tight plug-in limit switches.
