    HMC Series

Designed with extensive Six Sigma “Voice of the Customer” input, the HMC 1250 and HMC 1600 meet the needs of today’s manufacturers with speed, rigidity, capacity and versatility.

    Advantages

    • Modular design – select machine features and capabilities based on applications.  Choose from seven different headstocks including high-speed, high-torque, live spindles and tilt spindles.
    • Cast iron construction provides rigidity.
    • High performance drive and way system provides both superior stiffness and allows fast traverse – 35 to 40 m/min.
    • Large capacity with 2400 and 3000 mm workzone swing.
    • Productive standard features include:  linear scales, high-pressure coolant through the spindle and 4th axis contouring rotary tables.

    Applications

    • The rigidity of MAG horizontal machining centers makes it possible to take heavy cuts.  The video demonstrates a horsepower cut. Click here.
    • Live spindles add reach to machine features inside a part.  In addition, they allow use of attachments such as contouring heads and programmable boring bars which add turning capabilities reducing the number of setups and tooling requirements. Click here.
    • High torque spindles combined with the machine rigidity and MAG tooling easily machine hard metals such as titanium and inconel.
    • Tilt spindles facilitate five-axis machining of large parts.

    Automation

    • The standard HMC Series has a two-pallet shuttle system.  Additional pallets and alternate arrangements are available
    • Attachments may be stored in the tool magazine for quick and easy changeout.

    Options

To optimize manufacturing solutions, MAG horizontal machining centers offer choices to match the machine to the application.

    • Seven headstocks available including:  live spindle, tilt spindle, high torque and high speed
    • Travels
    • Contouring heads and programmable boring bars (available on live spindle models only)
    • Large capacity tool magazines
    • Tool and part probes
    • Controls – Siemens or Fanuc
    • Coolant systems
    • Multiple pallet systems

    Success Stories
