Horizontal Machining Center NBH 800

Cutting-edge performance data across the entire line.
 
The integrated design of the NBH 800 provides for a large work area compared to the total exterior measurements. With the machine bed as a one piece casting, the entire machine is a single transport unit, excluding tool magazine and pallet changer. This means a major reduction of installation and setup times. A further advantage of the tool magazine being separately set up is that it does not affect the machine’s performance in any way. The Z-axis feed is  carried out by a gantry drive. Two maintenance-free three-phase servo motors move the table and/or the NC rotary/tilting table for 5-axis machining via two precision ball screws. Gantry drive and the wide guideway layout ensure optimum guiding even with heavy machining.

Modular Tool Magazine

In respect to magazines, the new NBH 630 does not leave any wishes unfulfilled. Depending on the application required, one can choose from the following magazine types:

  • Disc-type magazine (60 tool locations)
  • Disc-type magazine (120 tool locations)
  • MAG Hüller Hille rack-type tool magazine
    (up to 300 tool locations)

All tool magazines are installed separately and do thus not affect the machine performance in any way.

Disc tool magazine
Economical tool magazine for production, with maximum 60 and/or 120 tools. Fast tool allocation via linear tool handling device with NC drive. Utilizing a double gripper arm, the handling device changes the tool into the fast tool changer during the machine operation.

The original Hüller Hille Cassette Magazine for XXL-Tools
offers space for up to six tool cassettes holding 50 tools each.

  • Change of complete tool sets during machining time.
  • Tool station allows load and unload of single tools during machining time.
  • Vertical tool position eliminates tool taper contamination by residual coolant and chips.
  • Position coded tools, electronically managed
  • High flexibility via special cassettes for large special tools.

Tool drawer
A pull-out drawer is available as an option for the tool loading station. It allows for the exchange of up to 4 tools during machine operation. Special tools can also be changed via the drawer.

Special cassettes are designed to store large special tools, e.g.

  • Milling cutters up to 400 mm diameter
  • Boring bars up to 800 mm length
  • Double-edge boring tools up to 600 mm diameter with max 125 mm width and 550 mm length
