Pallet Storage Systems for Automation

For the purpose of multiple machine assignment, continuation of production during breaks as well as for unmanned production, for years Hüller Hille offers optimized modules with its flexible production cells and systems.

An indispensable requirement for trouble-free, unmanned production are the following field-tested monitoring systems:

Multi-pallet storage system (MPS)

The standard (NBH 95) version of the multi-pallet storage system (MPS) has been designed for 7 pallets in the system (NBH 170: 8 pallets). A manipulator arranged in the center of the system just moves one pallet only. This means:

  • Low masses
  • Low wear
  • High reliability

The rotating loading and set-up station (standard) allows in-process loading and unloading. The set-up station can also be supplied as tiltable version (option) for large and badly accessible clamping fixtures. Extremely compact and space saving is the solution with two levels accepting 12 pallets in the system (NBH 170: 14 pallets).

Flexible pallet container

The flexible pallet container is the ideal, reasonably priced alternative if the space conditions do not allow the installation of a pool.

  • Container in welded construction with openings for container loading station and NBH interface
  • Rack (multi-level pallet storage system) in all welded steel construction (2 levels) with coolant drip pans below the pallet deposit places
  • Welded machine/rack operating device in rigid frame structure
  • Loading equipment with parallelogram mechanism moving in direction rack and machine interface
  • Container loading station with manual rotary pallet table
  • For pallet size 500 x 630 mm, 10 storage places at 2 levels
  • Can be extended by max. 2 basic containers resp. mini containers

Example for flexible pallet container

Flexible production cell NBH 135 with flexible pallet container for 12 pallet storage places comprising:

1 = Hüller Hille machining center NBH 135

2 = Extended tool magazine for 230 tools

3 = Basic pallet container with 10 storage places at 2 levels

4 = Mini pallet container with 2 storage places at 2 levels

5 = Container loading station / operator's set-up station

6 = Machine/rack operating device

Multi-level pallet storage system

In case of an even larger parts spectrum or application of several Hüller Hille centers as flexible production system, multi-level pallet storage systems will be used. Thanks to efficient space utilization the capacity of the storage system will only be limited through the infrastructure of the hall.

Robot automation
